Really great plug in!
Just a quick question…is it possible to have more than 1 slideshow on the same page with this plug in?

I want to (hopefully) display 3 slideshows (each with about 4 images) on the same page. Is this possible with your plugin?

I was searching high and low through all the plugins to find a highly integrated, simple to implement solution for displaying slideshows on my pages and posts. I stopped searching once I found your ShowTime Slideshow plugin; excellent product!

I do have one question as a newbie to your plugin: How do I display the pictures description/caption?

According to the documentation I have found thus far, ShowTitle will display the title and ShowAlt is suppose to display the description/caption; instead, it actually show the Alt text as you might expect from the name of the parameter. Is there a parameter for showing the actual description/caption from the gallery information?

trying out your plug-in on the rebuild, made portfolio images 640×480 pixels, set the plug-in to match, yet when images display they are no longer crisp but fuzzy and soft. Is there a way to fix this? If not, I will have to find another solution.

I’m a wordpress newby so I’m obviously missing something. I followed your instructions, but it doesn’t do anything.
The plugin is installed and activated. I added a gallery of pictures on a page and put in [showtime] in the page editor. Nothing happens except there’s some code visible at the bottom of the page. Am I using the wrong editor?

I was wondering if it’s possible to drop the opacity of the background for the text that appears at bottom of image. If it was at, say 20% opacity, it wouldn’t feel so much like you are chopping off the bottom of the image with the caption.

I set my text editor to HTML view and manually added a div and applied the style=”text-align:center” to the wrapping div. This worked to center the slideshow.

Thanks for making this slideshow available. Nice work!

I downloaded the updated st16.swf and it resolved my problem with using wmode=transparent so dropdown menu doesn’t fall behind slideshow (same issues others were complaining about). I thought I would note that the current download on the official WP plugins site doesn’t have this updated file. Had to search through the comments to find this post.

Ok… I’ve set ALSO the single file getxml.php on 755 permission and now it works!
I’m going to explore all the plugin features!

(My configuration is WP 3.0 on Apache server with SlideShow 1.6 plugin installed.)

My wp-content folder has 755 permission, but I still see the black box with “XML could not be loaded” instead of the plugin result.

Are there some news about this problem?

Hi Paul,

It really seem to be a great and simple slide plugin Ive found from thoudsands of slideshow plugin. Ive read throgh all the instructions and comments but still dont get the way to display slides on my posts.

I tried to add the imgs i want in the posts, and add the “showtime” code as well. I did get all the indiviual imgs that i selected, but not really get into a slideshow.

Wondering did I missed out any step or got the wrong way?

So, another question regarding the slideshow blocking a menu bar… I’ve read thru all the comments and your responses to this question… and I see a few suggestions on how to solve the issue, but some a bit unclear.

When I set the Window Mode to Transparent, it stops blocking the menu on Chrome5, IE7, Safari4 (all Windows – have not tested on Macs). But, as you know, this setting causes Slideshow to not appear at all on FF.

One suggestion made here said to add ‘display:block’ to the css for #st_0

When using Firebug, I see #st_0, and indeed when I add that setting there, Slideshow appears. However, I have combed every Slideshow file for #st_0 so that I can add the display:block, but cannot locate it anywhere. Where is this?

Am I correct in stating that this is the only current fix for this problem?

Hi,
thank you for your great plugin.
I have used it for my website in the header. It works great with all pictures, which I have uploaded to wordpress. I would like to show only the pictures in my wordpress gallery, but i can’t find the right ID of my gallery.
Can somebody show me how I get the right code??

Now, the slideshow on my own site isn’t working. But I have realized that Gallery is now not showing when I click on Add Image. ????? It’s like there isn’t a Gallery for the slideshow to pull from.

I love this plugin! It works wonderfully on MY site….I’ve tried installing it on another site I admin and I get a black box. I’ve read every one of these comments and have tried many things, I just can’t get it to work! Anyone have any suggestions?

I have the same problem.

The one from the your post works fine:

But mine does not:

[showtime flickr=http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photoset.gne?set=72157624163217733&nsid=51160160@N05&lang=en-us]

I have tested the flickr feed by posting it directlly into my firefox address bar and it work fine.

Why does the one work and the other one doesn’t?

I have the same problem with getting a black screen with my rss feed from flickr. It works fine with your slideshow. The flickr account is public but not Pro. Has anyone resolved this issue? Yours is the only slideshow I found that has what we need, and I really need it to work. Please help!
